Voie d'Espoir - Reuniting family and adoptees from Haïti

RASIN

RASIN is a project led by Voie d’Espoir, with the support of the French Embassy in Haiti, dedicated to origins search and to supporting adoptees and biological families in Haiti.

Launched in July 2026, the project operates primarily in the Palmes region, including Gressier, Léogâne, Grand-Goâve and Petit-Goâve. It aims to identify, welcome and register biological families affected by adoption, document their family histories, and facilitate searches initiated by adoptees seeking to learn more about their origins.

To strengthen its presence within local communities, RASIN operates a reception and registration office in Petit-Goâve, located on Rue des Vignes, Local Jeune, La Piste, near the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Since the project began, around fifty biological families have already been registered through this initiative. Each registration helps document and preserve a family history and may eventually contribute to a search or reconnection when an adoptee begins the process of tracing their origins.

Beyond registration, RASIN follows an approach based on listening, verification of information, informed consent, confidentiality and respect for each person’s choices. When potential family connections are identified, Voie d’Espoir can also support those involved through the verification process, preparation for reunion and follow-up as the relationship develops.

Through RASIN, Voie d’Espoir also seeks to give greater visibility and voice to biological families in Haiti and to help preserve family histories that may have been fragmented by adoption, time and distance.
